Following Dream Team, you acted in the highly acclaimed BBC documentary series "Days That Shook The World", both of your stories being written/directed by David Bartlett who also directed the Boyle's big Christmas episode of Dream Team! As both of your DTSTW stories were period-set (Theft of the Crown Jewels in the seventeenth century, and War of the Worlds 1938) is it more fun playing in another time rather than the present day?

As I mentioned earlier, I'm a sucker for a good costume so I loved filming both of those. I would love to do more period drama as I love all the research that come with that type of role. It's so far removed from your own life it's the perfect escapism.

Another of your roles was in the feature film "The Wedding Assemble". There doesn't appear to be much information to be found about that one online. How big was your role in that?

I played the leads fiancé. She was sassy and in control but unfortunately I think the production ran into a little financial difficulty in post production. It was a real shame as the script was really interesting.

You still appear in commercials - ranging from household products to financial services. Do you feel as though you've 'won' (so to say) when you're successful at getting one, as I've heard that commercials can be as highly competitive as acting jobs?

I'm a jobbing actor so when you get chosen for any job there is a sense of achievement.

A big part of your life today is your work as an Acting Teacher at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA)'s Saturday Academy. What does that see you do?

It's an amazing institution and I have a great bunch of mates there. I work with a team of people getting the kids ready for exams and Summer shows in The Paul McCartney theatre. A big part of my life is taken up by my writing as I'm in the final stages of completing my first feature script called 'Skimming stones'. I'm also devising a piece of theatre around the JFK story. My life is so random but at least I'm never bored.

I also read that you taught at the Space Centre and have directed several musicals there, including productions of Hollywood blockbusters "Bugsy Malone" and "Grease". That sounds like so much fun, do you have any favourite parts or memories to share?

I no longer work at Space but my time there was so rewarding. The kids there were hysterical we even had a Gleemo choir like an anti- glee / rock choir....don't ask, it just worked!

Which brings us to a recent production you've been involved in, as Choreographer for Ricky Tomlinson's Royal Variety Show at The Liverpool Empire. With the chance to work behind the scenes, how different are the values in this from being out on stage as you would be when performing?

I think the discipline is the same but you have to be able to convey your ideas to others around you. That can get frustrating at times if people can't visualise your ideas but I'm lucky a lot of my colleagues are also good friends so they just get me.
