Team Players>> Alex "O.B" O'Brien

Midfielder (#34) (2003-05)

Midfielder signed from Everton by Stuart Naysmith during the early days of his appointment as Harchester's permanent manager. Alex, or O.B and occasionally Kojak as his nickname(s), was one of the squad's reliable older statesmen, and like team mates Marcel Sabatier and, after he'd found Christianity, Curtis Alexander, was a wise-head to the younger players. To keep up his fitness, O.B joins Curtis in reserve team matches, one time against Leyton Orient away at Waltham Forest F.C where they are joined by Clyde, who finds the whole experience humiliating.

Alex is a regular first teamer, but the club is in trouble, and after a 2-0 loss to Leicester City, Coopers Bank liquidate Harchester. Refusing to let the club die, O.B stays to fight with the team, cementing his place as one of the '11 Angry Men' and travels to Charlton to win 1-0 at The Valley. When Coopers refuse HUFC the use of its name, Alex attends the court case with his team mates, later signing to play unpaid until the end of the season when the bank reopens the gates. The Dragons finish their tumultuous season 4th in the table, but owing to the match fixing which led to Harchester's liquidation, UEFA relegate the club to the First Division.

O.B gets to combine the club's journey back to the Premier League with the European excitement of the Champions League, notably with the team as they spend the night in jail before the Group Stage Qualifier against Sporting Lisbon. Viv Wright notably one of those not arrested, he later loses control before the FA Cup Fifth Round and begins to smash up the Players' Lounge. Alex goes to get Dean, awkwardly having to explain how Viv has been imagining wife Chelsea. Having been a regular selection in the side that takes Harchester all the way to Cardiff for the Championship Play Off final, O.B has a valiant game, supplying Lee Presley with the pass which gives the Dragons their winning goal.

A double hero, following the 11 Angry Men and now promotion back to the Premiership, Alex boards the coach in the Millennium Stadium car park with most of his team mates. When Don Barker is discovered for having killed Karl Fletcher, he drives his car head-on into the team bus, causing a massive explosion killing all on board.
