Granty, known by his team mates and managers, signed from Wimbledon in the pre-season
of 1998-99, the season Harchester goes all the way
in the FA Cup. Although Andy doesn't make the final eleven at Wembley, Harchester return home the holders. In
their first UEFA Cup competition during 1999-00, Andy is part of a side which
breezes through the First Round against Ajax. However, on
the way back from Amsterdam, four of his
team mates are lost in a private jet crash, and re-building, the club reaches
the Quarter Final Second Leg, and is knocked out of the FA Cup at the Fourth
Round.
Rejecting a bid from Middlesbrough, Andy's third season sees Harchester
qualify for their first Champions League alongside a second UEFA Cup. Andy
contributes a memorable goal when Harchester face Newcastle at home,
a 2-0 win with Andrei Belanov's first goal for the club. Making it to the FA Cup Quarter final
this season, Harchester go all the way to the UEFA
Cup Final and are bound for Amsterdam once
more, although Andy not making selection makes him a lucky escapee from the
coach crash, this time killing three team mates.
Andy's last season is a fight against relegation, thanks
to the behind the scenes work of manager Patrick Doyle, and is
left injured when a team-building paintball exercise puts he, Fletch, Robbie and Sully out. Another
successful FA Cup run is scuppered at the final
with the revelation of Doyle's relegation bet involving Jamie Parker. After five
seasons - qualifying him as a Dragon's veteran – and with a different squad
number each season, Andy leaves for West Bromwich Albion.
