David is a lawyer for the club, first brought in by Phil Wallis when Ryan is charged with Tara's hit-and-run of a pedestrian, and advises Ryan to plead guilty as he'd get a lesser sentence. When Tara's confession is finally accepted by the police, David suggests she will escape prison and will likely receive a fine and a ban. After Patrick Doyle's bet to see Harchester relegated is publicly revealed by Phil (with his sacking and a punch to send him on his way), the chairman is faced with being sued by Doyle for libel, and David recommends he retract and insist it was Jacqui's lies.

The scandal-ridden season continues, with the FA investigating where a missing two million pounds from Roberto Mendoza's transfer went. Jeff, Phil and Pilar's story of the money going towards a scouting operation in North Africa is enough to see the FA off, but Roberto's inclusion of the bung in his autobiography sees Jeff take the fall in order for Harchester to receive a reduced deduction, from six to three points. If David thought that was all Harchester could possibly throw in a season, the end certainly had it all! As Harchester beat Everton and save their Premier League lives, Phil goes through with, against David's advice, raffling off the club to whoever is sitting in the seat number he pulls out. A two-way battle ensues in front of David in the players' lounge, with the Boyle family with the seat on one side and Clyde Connelly on the other with his ticket.

With a court case to decide the owner, Dream Inc. appoint a figurehead in Pilar, who wastes no time informing David his services will no longer be required! David reappears for the case as a witness, this time in regards to third claiment, Matt Webster. His evidence provides the revelation that letters were sent out to every season ticket holder giving them the chance to claim their seats before reallocation, and that Alison stopped Matt getting his, resulting in he losing his claim for ownership.
