Shannon Eden Childs (Tasneem Roc) 2002-2003 Duration: 6.12 (272) – 6.17 (277) An American tennis professional, Shannon met Jamie Parker whilst they were both in-patients at a private treatment facility in Los Angeles, following Jamie's involvement in the M1 coach crash (although we never learn what Shannon's reasons for being there were). After spending a few months together Jamie returned to England, and a short time later Shannon arrived unannounced and found Jamie at Abi Fletcher's Christmas lunch, kissing him in front of wife Tash. Shannon is shocked to discover that not only was Jamie's marriage not over, but he neglected to tell her about his baby daughter, Hope. Jamie decides to hedge his bets(!) by first trying to save his marriage, but when Tash tells him she wants a divorce, Jamie puts his commitment to Shannon, who is prepared to make it work. Having declined the romance efforts of Jamie's father-in-law Jeff, and a fifty grand pay-off attempt for her to leave, Shannon realises having Jamie's estranged wife on the same scene at Harchester isn't going to be easy. When Jamie receives divorce papers from Tash, Shannon believes it is the reason his game has been suffering lately, and Shannon puts it to Tash that she is still in love with her husband. When Tash cannot give a straight answer, and her own boyfriend Robbie witnesses this, Tash lashes out at Shannon with the girls coming to blows. Shannon's intuition is confirmed when Jamie checks that Tash is OK before her, and Shannon tells him her manager has sorted a tennis tournament for her to get her career back on track, asking Jamie to call her if he decides he really wants her.
