Patrick grants Alan an audience with Bob and Jim from the Harchester Echo, in order to keep them onside with favourable media coverage. After inviting them to watch training, Patrick takes the three to Phil's office, where his planned sacking of Doyle is thrwarted buying the manager (and his bet) more time.
