Clemency Burton-Hill: Exclusive Interview

How would you describe Dream Team to someone who has not seen the show?  It's basically a soap based around a fictional Midlands team called Harchester who are stuggling near the bottom of the Premiership. It keeps up to date with what is happening with the Premiership to keep it relevant. The match scenes are really good as they are computer generated using real footage. Some of the football scenes are quite amazing.  I'm the show's biggest critic as I'm involved in it, but the ratings are very good.

Tell us more about your character, wild girl Georgina?  Yeah, she was certainly on the wild side. But more recently she has had more emotional issues to deal with, with her father dying and a miscarriage. But I think she's going to get back to her wild ways soon.

Who would you most like to seduce on the chairman's desk?  It would have to be the Ice Man, Dennis Bergkamp. He's just God as he strides beautifully across the park, Bergkamp is a really incredible player, but I'd change that to Stephen Hughes. I love Stephen Hughes. I'm a fan of all the players but I'm not sure about the love scenes though!
You also expressed how much you hated Peter Schmeichel.

Do you ever get any players on the set at Sky?  It always seems to be Chelsea players. I'm refusing to speak to them at the moment.  But they are really nice to me, and I get on really well with them. But after that semi-final I'm avoiding them. Ron Atkinson is the Harchester manager, He can't understand why girls would be interested in football.  It just seems really strange to him, but I think I proved to him that I knew what I was talking about.  He's a real character, and it was a great experience working with him..

Do you get much football rivalry on the set?  Surprisingly no-one else is that into it. They all like football, but I'm the only fanatic there. My bedroom is like a shrine to Arsenal.

How long have you been supporting Arsenal?  I've been a fan all my life. Both my older brothers are Arsenal fans, so I got into it as well. I've been a season ticket holder in the West Stand for three years now, but there's not much atmosphere. I want to move to the Clock End really.

What were your thoughts when Harchester knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup?  I was gutted. I tried to get them to change the script, but they wouldn't. I wasn't happy about that at all. I'm sure the real Arsenal would never go out of the cup so easily. I did manage to persuade them to include a fair bit of footage of Stephen Hughes though!
