Striker who begins getting the odd call-up from the youth team to the bench in the 2001-02 season. By the following season, he is in the reserves when all members of the first team who ate Christmas dinner at Karl Fletcher's house are struck down by food poisoning, and he is collected by Andy Ansah to make up the numbers for Harchester v. Manchester United at the Lair. Sam is joined by reserve team mate Carlo Chino and youth teamers Clyde Connelly and Paul Wood.

In 2003-04, Sam is often seen on Harchester's bench for first team fixtures, and makes it back after Harchester's liquidation temporarily saw the end of the reserves. He is there at the end of the season for another home meet against Man U, seeing the Dragon's qualify for Champions League, be relegated, before taking a transfer to Portsmouth.
